Barefoot on the Beach in the Turks & Caicos

The Alexandra’s New “Barefoot Dining” Service Offers the Ultimate Romantic Beach Dining Experience

Providenciales, Turks & Caicos – July 2006 – Romance runs wild at The Alexandra in the Turks & Caicos where just a few yards from the water’s edge couples can enjoy an intensely romantic and private dinner for two, sans shoes. Secluded from all other guests and diners on a 600 foot stretch of the world-famous Grace Bay Beach, the resort’s new “Barefoot Dining” service delivers an intimate and undisturbed four-course meal and beach dining experience. With their feet in the sand, guests can relax and indulge in a specially selected menu of international cuisine with a Caribbean twist prepared by their own private chef while being waited on by their own private server from The Orchid, the resort’s oceanfront restaurant and bar.

Barefoot diners can choose between an early dinner reservation that lets them gaze at impressive sunsets or a later candlelight dinner that offers a cozy setting under the stars. No matter what hour, the service always includes inviting tables for two situated on the sand dunes. Each table is romantically decorated with fresh flowers and intimately lighted with tiki torches. All visitors to the Turks & Caicos are welcome to experience “Barefoot Dining” at The Alexandra.

Perfectly complimented by the property’s amorous atmosphere, the gastronomic delights offered with “Barefoot Dining” utilize the freshest ingredients available and creative combinations remain consistent. For example, the most recent menu includes a Creamy Coconut and Shrimp Bisque served in an authentic coconut shell, followed by a Blackened Tuna Carpaccio. For the main course, guests choose between two entrees such as Grilled Snapper glazed with a tropical fruit butter sauce or Chateaubriand complimented with béarnaise and black peppercorn sauces. And for dessert, it is a sweet ending of citrus infused Crepe A L’Orange.

“We are pleased to offer the closest and most intimate waterfront dining on Grace Bay Beach,” said Norbert Lange, Food and Beverage Manager. “The understated luxury of our property combined with this tropically inspired menu and exclusive service provides guests with an unmatched romantic dining experience.”

The “Barefoot Dining” service is priced at $250 per couple, and does not include beverages, alcohol or a mandatory 10% government tax and 10% service charge. This service is only available for reservations on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, and is limited to a maximum of four couples per evening. Reservations can be made through the resort’s restaurant, The Orchid, by contacting Food and Beverage Manager Norbert Lange at 800-704-9424 extension 7525.
