AirTran Airways Offers Convenient Payment Option for Corporate Customers

ORLANDO, Fla., June 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI) , today announced that the airline now accepts travel payment by The Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP) at all points of sale including http://airtran.com/. UATP, the world's first corporate travel payment system, can be used by individual business travelers, corporate travel departments and travel agents.

AirTran Airways' expanded service allows for online bookings by corporate travelers with all UATP cards, which are issued by 15 airlines and accepted by more than 200 carriers as a form of payment for the purchase of air and rail tickets.

"Customer convenience is a top priority for AirTran Airways," said the airline's vice president of planning, Kevin Healy. "Our savvy business customers expect low fares, convenient flight schedules and priority boarding, but now we also can offer them the ability to use this popular form of payment for their travel needs."
