US Airways Expands European and West Coast Flying for Summer 2005

ARLINGTON, Va., March 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways will begin new nonstop daily seasonal flights to Barcelona and Venice and resume seasonal flights to Glasgow, Dublin and Shannon in May 2005, with its new summer schedule.

The schedule includes the inauguration of service between Philadelphia and both Venice on May 9, and Barcelona on May 16, aboard Boeing 767 aircraft seating 199 passengers.

Additionally, daily seasonal flights to Bermuda from Boston, Charlotte, N.C., and New York's LaGuardia Airport will be added to the summer schedule, using Airbus A319 jets seating 120 passengers. A second daily Philadelphia- Bermuda flight will be added, complementing the existing year-round flight. In June, seasonal Orlando-Bermuda Saturday service also will resume.

New domestic service to be added May 8 includes a fourth daily flight between Charlotte and Denver, a second daily Charlotte-Seattle flight; a fourth daily Philadelphia-Denver flight; and a fifth daily Philadelphia-Los Angeles flight. The airline's three daily Philadelphia-Seattle flights will be flown with Airbus A321 jets, seating 169 passengers.

Several other routes will get larger aircraft under the new May schedule. They include:

* Milwaukee-Charlotte, where three daily flights will be flown on Airbus
A319 jet aircraft and two 70-seat regional jets (RJs);
* Pensacola-Charlotte, where four daily flights will be flown on two
Boeing 737-300 jets and two 70-seat RJs;
* Toronto-Charlotte, where a fourth daily flight will be flown using a
Boeing 737-300;
* Manchester, N.H.-Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, where
three daily flights will be flown using a Boeing 737-400, a Boeing
737-300 and a 50-seat RJ;
* Toronto-Philadelphia, where six daily flights will be flown by two
Boeing 737-300s and four 50-seat RJs.
