US Airways Loves the Island Life – Airline Adds Two New Destinations in the Fiftieth State

TEMPE, Ariz., March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — US Airways (NYSE:LCC) announces the start of new service between its Phoenix hub and two Hawaiian Islands; Lihue, Kauai on March 1 and Kona, on the big island of Hawaii beginning March 2. The airline is also adding a second daily roundtrip flight from Phoenix to Honolulu, Oahu.

US Airways now offers 95 non-stop destinations from its Phoenix hub, making it a simple one-stop connection for customers all over the US Airways route network which not only spans the United States but also Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.

In addition to the new service in Phoenix, Las Vegas also benefits from new daily service to Kahului, Maui beginning March 1.

“The response to our Hawaii service that we started in December 2005 has been tremendous, and we are excited to initiate our second phase of service,” remarked US Airways Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing Scott Kirby. “Hawaii is a very popular destination for our customers, and we are very pleased to offer more service to the places they love to travel.”

US Airways will provide the service with Boeing 757-200 aircraft, which have capacity for 190 passengers (14 first class and 176 coach class).
