The conclusion of each summer is a weeklong, horsemanship clinic hosted by the original horse whisperer, Buck Brannaman. The food, prepared by Chef Michael Schneider, recently featured on Emeril Live, is extraordinary in that it's hearty with a gourmet-Western twist. Schneider uses fresh ingredients to create meals such as stuffed Colorado trout, or pancakes with fresh blueberries -- a recipe dating back to the founding of the ranch.
To appease the young children, tweens and teens, there's Camp C Lazy U, offering day-long, supervised, age-specific western-style activities. Camp C Lazy U was founded in 1949 to provide riding instruction, entertainment and education for kids 3-17.
Founded in 1946, the ranch is celebrating its 60th anniversary. While the ranch proudly retains its Old West history, a few modern amenities have been added to keep in touch with the 21st century, including a live, interactive ranch Web cam and an online 360 degree virtual tour.
