Stowe Summer Events Place Two Blue Ribbons in Vermont Chamber of Commerce

Stowe, Vt. (June 8, 2006) As if charming hospitality, endless outdoor activities, gourmet dining, and world-renowned sightseeing were not enough, two of Stowe's signature events have been included in the Vermont Chamber of Commerce "Top 10" ranking for summer 2006. The 49th Annual Stowe Antique and Classic Car Show and the Stowe Garden Festival are among eight other events statewide to make the Chambers list this year.
"These two events draw visitors from all over the world," said Valerie Rochon, Executive Director of the Stowe Visitor Information Center. "In addition to car and garden enthusiasts, our events summer calendar has something for just about everyonefrom art collectors to dog lovers, to cancer survivors and hot air balloonists."
The 49th Stowe Antique and Classic Car Meet takes place Friday, August 11 through Sunday, August 13, 2006. Over 800 antique cars are on display throughout the weekend, with special events such as fashion judging contest, antique car parade, Car Corral, and antique car related Flea Market.
On Saturday evening, visitors head to Stowe Village for the Classic Oldies Street Dance to boogey to hits from the 50's to the 70's.
>From Friday, June 23 through Sunday, June 25, garden enthusiasts will be flocking to the 14th Annual Stowe Garden Festival. Special clinics and workshops cover a broad variety of topics including all things annuals, incorporating a pond in your landscaping, sculptures, container gardening, low maintenance perennials and more. Self-guided tours of numerous famed gardens throughout Stowe provide an inspirational glimpse at the results of painstaking efforts and years of skill. The festival has an exciting and informative array of workshops, fairs, tours, and presentations by well known gardening experts.
