Former Stressed Out Couple Creates Ultimate 'De-Stressing' Escape
MENDOCINO, Calif., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard and Susan Strom have used their experience as the ultimate stressed out couple to create what they call the "ultimate decadent" de-stressor getaway. It includes flowers, wine, horseback rides, picnics, gourmets breakfasts and dinners, guided tours and massages -- all over a three-night, four-day mini-vacation.
"It seems like so many people are stressed these days and just need to be pampered -- have a few days away and do nothing but eat, drink and relax," explained Strom. "So Susan and I planned a three-night, four day total escape." They should know about stress: he was a telecommunication attorney and his wife, Susan, a high tech manager before becoming innkeepers in the tiny north coast town of Mendocino.
Their getaway includes three nights and full gourmet breakfast each day in the romantic, historic Whitegate Inn, two massages, horseback riding for two on nearby Ten-Mile Beach, a picnic basket (overflowing with fruit, cheese, bread, wine, chocolate), a six-hour wine tasting tour in the quiet, redwood-filled Anderson Valley by limousine, a bottle of Roederer Champagne, dinner certificates to local gourmet restaurants, tour tickets to the 47-acre Mendocino Botanical Gardens and a dozen roses in the room on arrival.
"I just wish someone had created this kind of escape for us when we were working 80 hours a week," Susan Strom said. "Now we find our relaxation helping others de-stress."
