Escape The Winter Blues At Pinehurst

VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. (NOVEMBER 14, 2006) Take a trip to Pinehurst Resort this winter, and you’ll find its evergreen namesake and clear blue skies a welcome escape from the gray and dreary.

From now through March, Pinehurst offers its greatest values of the year through a series of mid-winter specials.
· Evergreen Escape: At $225 per person, a quick golf or spa trip never sounded so easy. Package includes a round of golf or 50-minute treatment, plus accommodations, the famed Pinehurst breakfast and dinner. (Nov. 12 – Feb. 28). We suggest hot stones and hot cider at the Spa to warm up a winter day – or the Holly Berry Back and Foot Treatment, December’s spa special of the month.

· Enjoy the North Carolina Symphony’s Holiday Pops Concert at Thanksgiving and enjoy a fabulous family rate starting at $139 a person per night. The holiday offer includes room, breakfast and dinner. Limited space is still available for last-minute planners, with activities galore.

· Bring the family on December 1 for the Village Tree Lighting and Holiday Singalong – and start the season off right. Combine it with shopping, between Southern Pines and the Village shops, Cameron’s antique finds and Seagrove’s famed pottery. Kids under 17 stay and eat free all winter long at Pinehurst – and activities and holiday music for the family are planned every weekend through December (see for a complete list). More than 25 themed holiday trees will be on display at Pinehurst’s Carolina Hotel, open to the public at no charge.

· New Year’s Eve with the Band of Oz offers Carolina favorites and popular dance tunes that everyone can enjoy. Overnight rates are $215 and include breakfast, dinner and party.

· Heart ‘n Soul of Jazz, Valentine’s Style: It’s not too early to plan a weekend of romance – and our annual Jazz event is a showstopper in early February. Freddy Cole has a voice like his brother Nat – only smokier and sexier. Tierney Sutton is also a Grammy nominee, and recalls long-gloved dames in candlelit night clubs with her sultry sound. They’re on stage at Pinehurst’s Cardinal Ballroom stage Feb. 9-10; packages are $179 per person per night. Rate includes concert tickets, champagne in your room, breakfast, dinner and overnight accommodations.

· Play Pinehurst No. 2 for $252, before the Centennial celebration begins. Midweek dates are very limited for this exclusive offer on our championship course, beginning in December. The per person rates include one night’s accommodations, breakfast and a round on No. 2. Call for available dates and details during the winter season. Be on the lookout next spring: Pinehurst’s famed No. 2 course will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2007 with a special Centennial package.

· Pinehurst Gift Cards can be ordered by phone for those looking for last minute gifts. Call 800.487.4653 for cards in any denomination, for a golf trip, spa treatments, a special dinner or merchandise in the award-winning shops.

Rates are per person, per night, plus tax and service charge, and based on double occupancy. For more information or to make a reservation, see or call 800-487-4653. For press materials and photography, please see
