The Best of Zambia Safari
Spend the Most Exciting Twelve Days of Your Life in the African Wilderness in Great Comfort and Style
SOUTH LUANGWA, ZAMBIA (09/06) – If you are one of those travelers who thrill to adventure but at the same time, long for comfort and style, you’ll have it all on “The Best of Zambia Safari.” Combining stays in the dynamic South Luangwa National Park, the magnificent Lower Zambezi National Park, and the wondrous Victoria Falls, the 12-day safari is the ideal introduction to Zambia, a land of lush natural beauty, stunning wilderness areas and magnificent game parks – all largely undiscovered. The all-inclusive rate is $6,598 per person, based on double occupancy.
The Safari begins in the South Luangwa with Norman Carr Safaris, the originator of Africa’s Walking Safari. For the first two days, you will stay at luxurious Kapani Lodge, built on an ox-bow lagoon from which you will explore the main Mfuwe area of the South Luangwa by open vehicle.
` From there, you will journey to the Norman Carr Bushcamps where you will spend five days between three of the camps. These thatched chalets or tents, all with en-suite baths, are situated in remote areas of the Park but are close enough together so that you can move from one to the other on a walking safari with a trained guide, exploring the valley and the environs of the Luwi river as you go on foot in this area with no roads or people.
On the eighth day, you will depart to the Lower Zambezi National Park, 4,092 sq. km of superb game country, lying along the northern bank of the Zambezi River. You will stay at either Sausage Tree Camp or Chiawa Camp. The seven Bedouin-style tents of Sausage Tree Camp have en-suite open-air baths and each has a private butler. Excellent dining and a swimming pool rounds out this luxury camp. Chiawa is renowned for its exceptional guides and service, offers eight safari tents each on a raised timber deck with en-suite bathroom and private veranda, including three ultra-luxurious Superior Safari camps. An observation platform built into the roof of the spacious lounge provides an exceptional view of the valley.
Days 11 to 12 will be spent at the Tongabezi Camp near Livingstone, a wonderful base from which to explore the Victoria Falls. Edging the banks of the Zambezi River just downstream from the Falls, each of the exquisite five private cottages and houses feature sweeping view of the river. In addition to experiencing the majesty of the Falls, the area has many other activities such as bungee jumping, white water rafting, fishing, helicopter tours, and more. Or, Tongabezi is perfect for just relaxing where your own personal valet sees to your every comfot in this simple-yet-elegantly decorated Lodge.
