AirTran Airways Extends Flight Cancellations to Gulfport/Biloxi and New Orleans Due to Hurricane Katrina

Airline Provides Affected Passengers Multiple Rebooking Options

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Due to the severity of Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath, AirTran Airways has suspended service to Gulfport/Biloxi, Miss., and New Orleans, La., through Wednesday, September 7, 2005. The airline is providing customers that are booked for travel to/from these destinations with multiple rebooking options.

Customers with reservations for flights to/from these markets through September 7, 2005, now have the option of obtaining a full refund for their ticket, rebooking to a later date without a change fee or receiving a credit good for travel up to one year from the original date of purchase with no fees. Passengers holding tickets for travel to Gulfport/Biloxi or New Orleans from September 8, 2005, through October 31, 2005, now have the option to rebook for travel to another AirTran destination within the Southeast (Fla., Ga., N.C., Tenn.) without a change in the fare. Customers electing to change their destination for travel in September or October must complete their rebooking by September 15, 2005, and travel must be completed by October 31, 2005. In addition to these options, passengers may request to rebook to another AirTran Airways destination for one year from the original purchase date with no change fee or request a credit for travel that is valid for one year from date of ticket purchase.
