American Eagle Adds Jet Service Between Savannah/Hilton Head and Chicago

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will add nonstop service between Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport beginning July 2. American Eagle will operate two daily round-trip flights between the two cities using 50-seat ERJ-145 jets.

“Our new service between Savannah/Hilton Head and O’Hare is timed to provide business travelers the opportunity to hold meetings in Chicago and return home the same day or make easy connections via American’s hub at Chicago O’Hare to destinations around the world,” said American Eagle President Peter Bowler. “With service to both of AA’s largest hubs at DFW and O’Hare, I’m confident our new service will be well received by customers originating from or traveling to the Greater Savannah Region, Hilton Head Island, and the Low Country of South Carolina.”

“Connecting Savannah/Hilton Head International with Chicago O’Hare, the world’s busiest hub airport, will be another big boost to the economy in our region,” said U.S. Rep. John Barrow. “These two new nonstop flights will link Savannah with well over 500 connecting flights that American offers at O’Hare. That’s a real incentive for the increasing number of business and vacation travelers coming in and out of Savannah.”

“Savannah and Hilton Head Island residents are benefiting from American Eagle’s re-entry into the Savannah/Hilton Head market,” said Patrick S. Graham, Executive Director-Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. “Both the business and leisure markets will profit from the additional access to an already strong market.”
