Frontier’s Community Efforts Recognized With Prestigious Award From Volunteers of America

Denver Airline Honored to Receive ‘Outstanding Corporation’ Award

DENVER, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — This evening, Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ:FRNT) will proudly accept the “Outstanding Corporation” award from Volunteers of America Colorado Branch for its corporate efforts on behalf of Volunteers of America.

Frontier’s corporate partnership with Volunteers of America began in November 2004 when Frontier selected Volunteers of America as one of its three core community partners, along with the Children’s Hospital and Colorado Make-A-Wish Foundation. The relationship was kicked-off with a Thanksgiving event that included over 80 Frontier employees who contributed their time and talents to Volunteers of America’s Brandon Center for homeless women and their children. Frontier employees completed yard work, electrical installation and general home repair for the Center. The day ended with a huge Thanksgiving meal for the residents of the Brandon Center, cooked and served by Frontier volunteers.

The relationship with Volunteers of America also includes:
– Sponsorship of Volunteers of America’s famous Meals-On-Wheels program
including Frontier branded Meals-on-Wheels vans.
– 65 round-trip tickets to be used for fundraisers and to support
administrative travel needs.
– On-going sponsorship of one of the most visible charity events in
Denver, Volunteers of America’s Western Fantasy.
– Joint development of a unique, new volunteer program for high school
students and youth groups encouraging youth volunteerism by allowing
them to earn Frontier discounts through volunteer time. Students can
earn up to a $100 discount on Frontier tickets by applying an hourly
“volunteer wage” of $13 per hour to the discount.
– Frontier employees are engaged in monthly volunteer opportunities
including Meals-on-Wheels deliveries and special events such as “Make
Someone Smile Day” flower deliveries.

“The partnership that Volunteers of America has forged with our friends at Frontier Airlines is truly exemplary, and a great model for partnering the for-profit and non-profit worlds,” said Dianna Kunz, President of Volunteers of America. “Today’s award has certainly been earned by Frontier through dedication and hard work, but we would be remiss if we didn’t mention passion and creativity. The depth of our partnership goes far beyond monetary donations, creating a relationship that taps into the best of human spirit within both organizations.”

“We are very proud, and humbled, to accept this award on behalf of all of our employees who have been involved with this partnership over the past year,” said Jeff Potter, President and CEO for Frontier Airlines. “It is truly a privilege to be able to contribute to an organization that has such a tremendous impact in our community, and the fulfillment that our employees receive in return easily makes us the winners in this relationship. We look forward to many more years of working with Volunteers of America and we appreciate the great honor which they have chosen to bestow on us today.”

Frontier joins a distinguished list of corporations to receive this award, including Pulte Homes, StarzEncore Group, Neiman Marcus, Liberty Media, Meadow Homes, Metro Taxi, Bank One, Coors Brewing Company, Public Service Company of Colorado, and Holme Roberts & Owen law firm, all of whom have received this award in past years.
