‘London for Free’ Has Returned with 2 Free Hotel Nights

NEW YORK, June 21 /PRNewswire/ — Blimey! British Airways announced today the return of “London for Free,” one of British Airways’ customers’ favourite promotions in the United States. “London for Free” offers travellers two nights’ free hotel accommodation in London when purchasing round-trip airfares between the United States and Europe.

Airfares begin at $358 round-trip between New York City and London; comparable rates are available to several other European cities including Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Athens and Prague. The sale is available from Tuesday, June 21 through midnight (EDT) Thursday, June 30; the travel period is Sept. 1-Oct. 26, 2005, and Dec. 16-Dec. 23, 2005.

The two free hotel nights (which include continental breakfast daily, service charges and taxes) are available at a selection of three and four-star hotels. The hotel offer is available through Dec. 2005.

Comparable airfares are available from all 19 British Airways’ USA gateways to London and Europe. Sample round-trip fares include, Chicago/Barcelona starting at $776, Los Angeles/Athens beginning at $863, Boston/Amsterdam for $592, and Washington, D.C./Prague starting at $707.

Passengers also may upgrade to the premier economy World Traveller Plus cabin for an additional charge in each direction. World Traveller Plus offers seven inches of extra legroom (38-inch pitch) and a wider, more comfortable seat in a separate cabin aboard longhaul wide-body B747 and B777 aircraft.

London hotels participating in “London For Free” include Thistle Westminster, Thistle Lancaster Gate, Thistle Kensington Gardens, Thistle Victoria, St Giles, Royal National, Marriott Maida Vale, Corus Hyde Park, Saint Gregory, Jurys Inn Chelsea. The two free hotel nights are based on double occupancy; single occupants are offered one free hotel night.

Tickets must be purchased seven days in advance of departure; minimum stay is one Saturday night and all travel must be completed by Dec. 23, 2005. Free hotel nights must be booked eight days in advance of arrival, and must be taken on consecutive nights in the same hotel.

Economy seat fares are based on mid-week travel, Monday-Wednesday. Weekend travel, Thursday-Sunday is available for an additional $30 surcharge each way.

Fares are subject to availability and do not include government taxes and fees of approximately $110 for World Traveller and $149 for World Traveller Plus, plus a $2.50 Sept. 11 Security Fee.
