Come And Celebrate The Native American Festival At The Detroit Zoo

ROYAL OAK, Mich., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ — Come celebrate the exciting Native American Festival at the Detroit Zoo on October 8 and 9. The Native American Festival concludes the Zoo’s Summer Festivals at the Detroit Zoo … Like Nowhere Else presented by Pizza Hut(R).

This cultural event will feature opportunities to learn Native American inspired arts and crafts, admire the culture’s traditional attire, learn children’s songs and animal names in the Anishinaabemowin language, and watch as professional hoop-dancers light up the stage. At the Native American Community Resource area, guests will be able to talk with representatives of local organizations about this vibrant culture. Located on the plaza east of the Ford Education Center, the Native American Festival takes place 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is free with the cost of Zoo admission.

Pizza Hut is taking the sponsorship a step further by implementing a summer promotion, “Do the Zoo Thing.” Ending October 9, when consumers dine- in and purchase “The True Zoo Family Deal,” Pizza Hut will donate 20 percent of proceeds to the Detroit Zoo. Pizza Hut has committed to a maximum $10,100 donation, minimum $5,000.

The Detroit Zoological Institute is comprised of the Detroit Zoo and the Belle Isle Nature Zoo. The Institute, founded in 1928, is committed to celebrating and saving wildlife. Situated on 125 acres of naturalistic exhibits, the Detroit Zoo is open year round with several indoor viewing areas.
